To celebrate 65 years of Belfast Operatic Company and 60 years of The Sound Of Music movie, we were proud to present six unforgettable performances of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music in the breathtaking setting of St. Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast.
From 24th–28th June 2025, audiences were transported into an immersive and fully staged production of the beloved musical, featuring iconic songs like Do-Re-Mi, My Favorite Things, and Climb Ev’ry Mountain. Set against the atmospheric backdrop of the cathedral, this special production brought Maria and the von Trapp family’s inspiring story vividly to life, earning standing ovations and rave reviews from audiences throughout the week.
With a 20 piece orchestra playing the stunning Rodgers and Hammerstein score, a fitting celebration of 60 years since the movie hit our screens.
With two very talented sets of children, two Marias and a cast of 40 plus local performers, the Cathedral came alive with the sound of music, and our supporters applause!
