No matter what your background or experience, we welcome you to audition for the BOC. Our members range from 16 to over 80 from all backgrounds, communities and walks of life. We have members from Newry, Whitehead, IslandMagee, and Omagh to name a few.

Talent & Togetherness are at the core of BOC

We are blessed in Northern Ireland to have such a deep pool of creative individuals, born and bred in this wee country we call home.

At BOC we give those people a platform to shine so they can exhibit their remarkable talents for the world to see.

The talent of our performers is only matched by the skill of our production team, who ensure that the shows and concerts we put on really are up there with the best the UK has to offer.

Becoming a member

If you are interested in joining Belfast Operatic Company then please write to, or e-mail, our Company Secretary, giving your name, address and contact number and a brief description of any previous musical experience. Alternatively, fill in the online form above and click on the Submit button. We will then be in contact to arrange an audition with our Musical Director.

BOC rehearses and socialise on Monday nights from 7.30pm – 10.00pm at our premises on Heron Road, Sydenham Business Park (view contact page) and we would be delighted to hear from you. In the run-up to major shows or concerts, rehearsals may also take place on Wednesday evenings.

We are a fully inclusive organisation. Discrimination is not tolerated here.

Patrons – Friends of Belfast Operatic Company

Our patrons provide an invaluable backbone to the company and we are grateful for their continuing support. For a subscription of £15 per year (£20 per couple) our friends receive priority booking for BOC concerts and shows, and regular updates on company activities.
