28th January was a big night in The Empire Music Hall - competitiors took the stage for The Mencap Y Factor - a local take on Simon Cowell's The X Factor.  The judging panel included Branda Buckley of Business Eye, Paul Martin - the Daily Mirror showbiz editor, Steve Martin from Soundhouse and Maurice Jay from U105.

Iain wowed the panel as he sang with a five-piece band and walked off with first prize! Now he can concentrate on rehearsals for the part of Gaston, which he plays in Beauty & the Beast in Belfast's Grand Opera House in March.
