The Belfast Operatic Company
The Belfast Operatic Company were very proud that their 50th anniversary show, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, was performed to full houses in Belfast’s Grand Opera House.  An unprecedented 99% of seats were sold across the six performances.

Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is the musical stage adaptation of the company's hit animated feature from 1991, featuring the Academy Award-winning title song and the show-stopping 'Be Our Guest', plus songs written especially for the stage by Alan Menken and Tim Rice (including 'If I Can't Love Her' and 'A Change In Me').

A very strong cast brought the fabled Disney magic to life: Alice Johnston as Beauty, James Huish as the Beast deserve particular mention.  As do the enchanted characters: Brain Trainor as Lumiere, Colin Boyd as Cogsworth, Laura Kerr as Mrs Potts, Debbie West as Madame de la Grande Bouche and Kerry Cooper as Babette.  Also Gaston (Ian Mercer), Lefou (Mark Leeman), Maurice (Wilfie Pyper) and D'Arque (Simon McGowan) made the most of their roles in the village.

As always, the fantastic BOC chorus were the backbone of the production by Wilfie Pyper and Declan Moore moulded them into an incredibly drilled troupe of dancers, household implements and villagers.

A fantastic experience for everyone in the audience and on stage alike!!
